About Bikes Revived

We’re passionate about cycling and we know our stuff. We repair and relocate unwanted bicycles. Our aim is to help people from all walks of life get out on two wheels and for it to be an inclusive and empowering experience.

We have a number of trained mechanics two of which are Cytech trained. We are able to advise you on which bike to buy, service your bicycles, show you how to fix your own bike on our Bike Maintenance Courses and even offer guided bike rides. All our services are available either at our Merstham site but we can also come to you.

The seed funding for this project was awarded via Comic Relief in 2012, to enable us to purchase tools and fit out a small workshop, however the project was further enhanced via Travel SMART funding.

This started in April 2012 Surrey County Council were awarded funding from the Department of Transport to develop local sustainable travel choices that cut carbon, calories and cost. Travel SMART aims to support economic growth as well as cut carbon by helping people travel better. Travel SMART is due to run until March 2015 and more information on this project can be found on www.surreycc.gov.uk .

Testminonals

  • "Bikes Revived has helped some of our pupils discover untapped talents and refine practical skills – providing the right mix of support and teaching. It has made a big difference to the youngsters we have been able to refer to the project.." Dave Roberts – Teacher – St Nicholas School

  • "As the Surrey. County Councillor for. Merstham and Banstead South, I am a strong supporter of Bikes Revived and this dynamic project that has had another successful and challenging week.
As the growth of this bike renovation and cycle engineering project is so fast and so successful they need more space due to public and student high demand.
The scheme runs a cycle renovation program and a very cost effective cycle purchase scheme with plans to start cycle tours in the Surrey Countryside, even involving electric assisted cycles.
The training programs will now include electric cycle maintenance that will develop electronic skills and knowledge that will increase the employment opportunities to the course students.
So if you have old bikes why not donate them to the project it will help those less fortunate.
." Bob Gardern Surrey County Councillor.
